Daama — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 July 2026
Daama ("the app") helps you find the best online price for a product by
taking or selecting a photo of it. This policy explains what information the app
handles and how.
Information the app processes
- Photos you take or select. When you search, your photo is
sent securely to Google's Gemini API to identify the product. The photo is used
only to generate a product search query. We do not store your photos on any
server of our own. Where possible, identification instead happens entirely
on your device (text recognition), in which case the photo never leaves your phone.
- Product search queries. The identified product name is sent
to our search partners (Serper.dev and/or SerpApi) to retrieve price listings
from online stores. Queries are not linked to your identity by us.
- Search history and cached results. Stored only locally on
your device. You can delete them at any time from the app's History screen
("Clear"), or by clearing the app's storage. They are never uploaded.
What we do NOT collect
- No account or sign-up is required; we do not collect your name, email,
phone number, or contacts.
- We do not collect your precise location.
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
Advertising
The app shows banner ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use
device identifiers (such as the Advertising ID) and related data to serve and
measure ads, as described in
Google's Privacy Policy and
Google's Advertising
Policies. You can reset or limit ad personalisation in your device settings
(Settings → Google → Ads).
Third-party services
The app relies on these processors to work:
- Google Gemini API (product identification from photos)
- Google ML Kit (on-device text recognition — no data leaves the device)
- Serper.dev / SerpApi (product price search)
- Google AdMob (advertising)
Tapping a price result opens the retailer's website (e.g. Amazon, Flipkart,
Nykaa) in your browser; those sites have their own privacy policies.
Security
All network communication uses HTTPS encryption.
Children
The app is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children
under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the updated version will be posted at this page
with a new "Last updated" date.
